I stand here before you as the newest member of the Plexus Web crew, the next in line to “learn the way of the web” from Charlie, our in-house guru. Working here for a week is akin to going to web design “grad school”; I have learned more this week than in the past 2 years of puttering around on the web.
I come here from quite a different background: a professional athlete. Up until November, I was a happy-go-lucky professional cyclist, bouncing all around the country, and even to the far reaches of rural China, to race and to win. In a strange twist of fate, things didn’t work out as planned, I wasn’t going to be racing for 2010, and I was sitting in an office for an interview with Plexus.
In my blog, I will try to share the ins-and-outs of learning how to build functionality into a beautifully designed website. With a bachelor’s of business in marketing from the University of Wisconsin, I understand the fundamentals of reaching your customers and clients and creating a dialogue. There’s a wrong way to do this (we’ve all been to those websites), and a right way to do this. I’m looking forward to sharing with you what I learn about the “right” way!
