Firefox Crashes on Gmail

Last week I noticed that every time I tried to compose an email in Gmail, Firefox would have a hard crash. I figured it was something in the javascript and left Gmail alone for a few days since it is Beta. This week I decided to try it again and I experienced the same behavior. In an effort to debug this problem I tried Gmail in all the browsers that I had installed. I had the same crash in Camino and Opera but it worked fine in Safari. After much poking around I found that my Palatino font was corrupted. After replacing the font everything was fine.

Sorry to be dense, but how does one replace the font?

How do I find out if I have a corrupted font? I imported some fonts from my laptop, and also for my office computer and since then, I have been getting Firefox crashes when I close Gmail.

@Confused and @Robert This was happening on a Mac. This article will explain how to find corrupt fonts: http://www.lifespy.com/2007/mac-tips-find-and-eliminate-corrupt-fonts-in-osx/

Having the same problem described, but ONLY in Firefox (3.0.5). Opera (10a) has no problems with it.

Sorry por my bad english: Disable all extensions and restart firefox, then returned to normal, I was turning the extensions one by one and that was giving the problem was FoxyTunes! Then turn off FoxyTunes and it was all right!

Português: Desativei todas as extenções e reiniciei o firefox, logo voltou ao normal, fui ativando as extenções uma por uma e o que estava dando problema era o FoxyTunes! Então desativei e ficou tudo bem!

After much searching, I disabled all plugins and re enabled them one by one... Try this: disable the "Google Talk" plugin in the "add-ons" panel Works fine for me!

Maybe this plugin needs to be updated... I haven't tried yet

i had the same problem with firefox & Gmail in recent 2 weeks. accidently, i found a solution for this error. first, i tried to remember what changes i had made recently and finally i found the reason : GTalk plugin. i had removed GTalk plugin and firefox couldnt get on with GMail since then :) now i have restored GTalk installation and they are working together again with no problem. hope this helps you folks.
