For nearly the last six months Plexus has been building a new Web application designed to reward those who rent. ListingTank, “the rewarding way to rent,” is the brainchild of four young entrepreneurs – Charles Roach, Charles Preston, Shane Bridges, Carter Kessler, who share a background in real estate sales, development and investing.
ListingTank lets you search for available apartments, homes and other properties for rent using an extensive database complete with an interactive photoviewer, maps, streetview, floorplans, detailed descriptions and more. When you find what you are looking for and sign a lease, ListingTank rewards you with a cash incentive ranging from $100 to $1000 for using their service.
Guided by the ideas from ListingTank co-founders, Plexus’ Lead Application Developer Charlie Maffitt built the system from the ground up. It features a variety of functions based on the type of user you are – admin (ListingTank), property admin (property owners and managers) and account admin (users). Property owners and managers can create listings for each of their properties by adding details, uploading photos and setting the reward rate. Users can search for ideal properties and even “watch” specific listings.
Plexus and ListingTank have worked closely to build the online system that was launched in Beta form in late April.
“Plexus is an extraordinary company to work with,” said Charles Roach. “The level of expertise, quality of work, timeliness, and pricing outmatches the competition by a landslide. We’ve had the absolute pleasure of getting to know these friendly, hardworking, intelligent, creative and fun people over the past year. As a web company whose business rests fully on the reliability of Plexus’ efforts, we couldn’t be happier with the results.”
ListingTank markets currently include Athens and the surrounding areas, Milledgeville, Statesboro, and Savannah. In the next three months, ListingTank will add Columbia, South Carolina; Gainesville, Florida; Knoxville, Tennessee; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and other southeastern cities.
According to Roach, the response from renters and property managers has been overwhelmingly positive. “We predicted 60% of the property managers we approached would sign up but current figures are nearing 90%.”
“We are finding that property owners and managers think ListingTank is a creative way to market,” added Roach. “In turn, renters find the system simple to search for properties and love how quick and easy it is to claim a reward.”
In addition to expanding the markets they serve, ListingTank plans to launch a large-scale marketing campaign to compete with other prominent national brands. The co-founders are also planning monthly give-a-ways on Facebook, so be sure you are a ListingTank fan!
