Plexus Web Creations introduces Laptop Learning, a series of search engine optimization (SEO) training courses designed to teach professionals search engine principles and the direct benefits they offer businesses.
SEO entails making small modifications to different parts of your Web site that can have a noticeable impact on your site's overall user experience and performance in non-paid search engine results.
Laptop Learning courses are geared towards businessmen and women looking to advance their understanding of technologies such as search engines, blogging, and social media.
Taught in a small class setting, the course series begins on Friday, April 3, 2009. Because there are only six participants in each class, students are offered one-on-one attention, real-time changes and improvements to their Web site, suggestions for further site enhancements, and monitoring of lead generation progress over the course of the six weeks.
The series consists of six classes, and each class will build on the preceeding coursework. The first, Understanding Search Engines, runs 90 minutes and will begin at 2:30 pm on April 3. The five courses that follow each consist of three hours of hands-on learning, beginning at 1:00 on consecutive Fridays following the first class.
Classes will be held at Plexus located in the Leathers Building near downtown Athens. Participants are asked to bring a laptop and FTP access to their Web site as each class will consist of hands on learning.
Online registration is available at www.laptoplearning.org. Courses range in price from $90 to $150 each; a $145 discount applies for series registration.
Laptop Learning is taught by Kelly Jones, SEO Specialist at Plexus. Miss Jones is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. She double majored in Public Relations and English as well as earned the New Media Interdisciplinary Certificate from the New Media Institute.
