Plexus Reinvented

Plexus purchased a suite in the Leathers Building in late 2007 and spent the spring renovating the space. Working closely with the designer and builder, Elrod Sims, Plexus was able to convert a flat, one story space into an innovative and lofted office suite that fits our team approach to projects.

On the ground level you’ll find reception, offices, a fully outfitted conference room, server room, bathrooms and kitchen. A second story loft was built in to house the development team.

"Our new space is a dream come true," says Plexus President Stephanie Sharp. "Working in a space specifically designed for you makes a world of difference."

The new office has a distinctly modern feel. Sliding barn doors replace the traditional variety while exposed brick, beams, duct work and piping emphasize the rustic feel that is inherent to the original structure that was constructed in 1946.

In fact, the building was originally home to L. M. Leathers & Sons, a manufacturing outfit that produced sheet metal and roofing guards until the early 1990s when they moved to a larger facility. The building sat empty until 2003 when it was purchased by a developer for adaptive re-use as professional and retail offices.

Plexus is the newest resident in The Leathers Building, a community composed mainly of creative types including a new café, Trax (great coffee and delicious fare), architects, real estate agents, hair dresser, wine shop, landscape designers, several yoga studios, holistic medicine, sculptor, software engineers, and our own personal favorite, Terry Allen Photography, among others whom we look forward to meeting.

Plexus will be hosting an open house on Thursday, August 21 from 5:00p and 7:00p. Be sure to drop by for drinks, delicious food from Trax, and swag.
