He’s been called the next big thing in professional tennis and standing at six foot, nine inches tall, it’s not hard to see why John Isner is taking the pro scene by storm. A University of Georgia Men’s Tennis standout who led his team to the 2007 NCAA Championship and himself reached the finals of the singles competition, is now well on his way, Web site and all.

Isner’s new Web site that launched January 4, 2008 is equipped with everything fans need to stay abreast of his progress including announcements, events and scoring, news, photo galleries, videos, downloads, John’s blog, and a way for fans to submit questions for John to answer on the site. With a professional presentation and dynamic sports feel, Isner’s site matches up to those of the top ranked players in the world.

According to Isner, “The site is amazing! It is a great communication channel between me and my fans and supporters.” He added, “It allows me to connect with fans which is a real asset while I’m on the road playing tournaments.”

Intended to generate interest for Isner and his professional tennis career, Plexus developed the site so that fans could interact in a variety of ways. In addition to the fan-submitted questions, fans can “digg” news items (through digg.com a social news networking site that allows users to give articles a thumbs up – digg, or thumbs down – bury, and articles that receive the most diggs appear at top). In addition, the site links to other resources about John including his ATP and NCAA Player Profile pages, a Google News feed for articles on John, his Facebook fan group, a Flickr feed for photos of John, and YouTube videos of John.

“John’s career has taken off so fast that tournaments haven’t been able to include his bio or photos but now, with the Web site, they have total access to information on John.,” said Sam Duvall, Isner’s agent with SFX Tennis. “It is an incredible resource for officials, sponsors, fans and more!”

John has received a plethora of honors including breaking the University of Georgia’s tennis record for most wins, four year All American honors, NCAA National Champion (2007 Team, 2005 Doubles), and most recently, he was named the Athens Banner-Herald Sports Newsmaker of the Year (2007).
